I had lots of leg muscle and discolored toes with my 7.5 cm aaa. Since surgery that has disappeared and I assume it was a blood oxygen level being affected. I had no clue I had this and am very lucky it had not ruptured when they scheduled me for emergency surgery. I do cardiac rehab and am happy to be getting some weight off.

1 ReactionMay I ask which type of surgery you had? I was told that sometimes the AAA throws off tiny blood clots and that could be what's causing the purple-colored toes. I'm scheduled for an ultrasound this next week, and if they discover blood clots, I will be having AAA surgery. I'm scared!
