Anyone experience hair loss with Prolia? I would also like to hear about those on Prolia with no issues?

There is a way to get off Prolia , but it has to be done carefully. Pick up the book written by Dr Keith McCormack titled Great Bones. He explains in there how to do it. Bone marker tests need to be done to know how and when to do it. Refer to pages 545-554 for information. It’s an easy book to buy on Amazon. You can also schedule an appointment with him. Look him up!! I just had an appt with him, but my situation is different. Good luck to you!!!

On Prolia, my hair changed texture to coarse (from fine). My hair broken of just above my ear. I couldn't wait to get off of it (6-month drug) and try something else. I will never take that chance with a drug "that might cause hair loss" Most do.

First time posting. Just received my second dose. Had significant hair loss on first shot within just a few weeks. Doc said it would not happen that fast…hair cycles every 3 months. Sound familiar to anyone?

Have heard others mention that.

Did you orthopedic doctor give you a reason why you shouldn’t go on Prolia? I’ve been recommended to go on it by my endocrinologist and I’m not comfortable with the idea either. Just wondering what bothered your orthopedic doctor about it. I had a bad accident many years ago and my right foot is full of pins and a plate.

We didn’t really get into a deep discussion.

I took Prolia every six months for 2 years and yes my hair broke off and fell out. Then my Dr. wanted me to do Reclast-NEVER NEVER AGAIN. I had the infusion last January and I had every side effect listed. By September I was noticing the side effects were diminishing but my hair is terrible! I don't know what I will do from here on-I am 75 yrs. old and I am starting to think I should take my chances???

I just had my first shot of Prolia. There is a Prolia Support Group on Facebook. If you had even one shot of Prolia, you have to relay off of it. Just don't stop it cold turkey. This Prolia support group consists of people all over the World who have experienced reactions that are not all in the directions that you receive when first getting on Prolia. You just have to decide your risk if you take it. For me, taking Evenity (12 shots) and then Prolia every six months allowed my orthopedic surgeon to fix my burst compression fracture that did not heal. I ended up not being about to stand or walk over 4-5 minutes and could not lift anything. I am having surgery soon. The risk was worth it for me. I have been like this for two years as I could not get surgery due to the Osteoporosis.

Your doctor is wrong, I immediately saw a change in my hair; hair thinning and breaking above my ear.
