Anyone have antibody mediated rejection years after liver transplant?
25 years after liver transplant, my son has developed liver fibrosis/ scarring, apparently due to AMR ( antibody mediated rejection). Has anyone had experience with this? I am hoping to find out which hepatologists at Mayo Arizona are most experienced in this area. Thank you!

Thank you @rachel5239 😊 it's wonderful (and comforting!) to hear that a small adjustment in your immune suppression meds handled the rejection. Congrats on 38 years and still going strong! I am sure you never expected to deal with rejection after 22 years post transplant, but it turned out to be just a bump in the road. Thanks so much for answering my questions about your rejection experience with a very positive outcome.

1 ReactionThanks Rachel.
Do you know if yours was antibody-mediated rejection, or the cell mediated rejection?

3 ReactionsThey told me my prograf levels got too low. No idea how that happened. I had an autoimmune chronic liver disease. They told me my disease was back. It was pretty scary. They ended up adding one more medication and I haven’t had any trouble since. I am 38 years post transplant and I can’t complain about how I feel. I am now 73 years old. Happy I have made it this far but can’t help thinking how much longer can this go on??
