Possible flareup of fibromyalgia after nerve ablation in lower back.
had a nerve ablation of the L3, L4 and L5 a couple of months ago. Since then have had a severe flareup of my fibromyalgia. Has anyone else experienced any of the same? The pain is worse in left hip and down left leg to ankle but i pretty severe in feet and and other body parts. I currently have been prescribed gabapentin 600 mg three times a day, 50 mg tramadol twice a day and just was started on Memantine 10 mg once a day to increase to 10 mg twice a day if no imrovement of pain. All prescribed by the pain management Dr that performed the ablations.

Oh my, can't imagine your pain. I don't know how you bear it with radiation and chemo.
I have had several cervical branch ablations and after each I have extreme nerve pain for about 1-2 weeks. The last time I had it done earlier this year, it was suggested to try massage and acupuncture. Massage although very nice for the muscle tightness from the nerves acting up did not help quite as much as the acupuncture. The acupuncture has been amazing in helping with this pain and other pains. I am so glad it was suggested and that I tried it. I cannot say if it will work for you, but it is something to consider. Always consult with your providers before attempting new treatments, of course.
