I was just diagnosed after breaking my hip. Now I can't walk more then 1/2 mile without my calf and leg hurting. My ankle swells and aches. My Dr requested a scan and determined it was PAD. I was told it was my veins however not my arteries that have clogging. So I believe I have PVI, not PAD. So after researching for myself I have started taking Antiseptic Krill. And I believe it is helping. The ankle swelling has gotten better for sure. I am still looking for more natural help. I will take any advice. Thabks
Diagnosed 2017. Illeac bilateral stents in legs and just two months ago bilateral stents both main renal arteries. This, with the living on the cake an AAA diagnosed 2020. Has remained stable at 4. 2 currently. Blessed more than I deserve. ✌🏻
Yes you are! You posted another time about some herbs and supplements that may have been responsible for the reduction of your aneurysm. Could you repost here or DM me with that. I would love to hear more on your routines. Thanks
I have it and except for a few things that I know, I am totally in the dark. Doctor really not much help, just said I have it, and of course the usual, no smoking, watch your diet, keep weight down, etc. All of which I am and have been compliant with. I did have a blood clot 18 months ago in a major artery with 2 surgeries, stent put in and 2/3 of my small intesties removed in a small bowel resection, so the thought of another clot, although I guess a different kind, scares the you know what out of me. The other one cost me a total of almost 20 days in hospital (2 sessions, first hospital session didn't diagnose the clot), 60 days rehab and still ongoing doctor appointments, scans, etc. Event left me diagnosed as severe malnutrition (went dowm to 79 pounds) and tons of other obstacles to overcome. And until reading my medical reports after finally being released didn't realize they had basically figured I wouldn't survive even the initial surgery. That was really errie reading those remarks. I am finding it really hard to figure out exactly what this diagnosis really entails.
I’m a type 2 diabetic, 66 years old. In April last year, I developed a diabetic foot ulcer behind my amputated big toe on my right foot. I underwent a vascular study which revealed that right foot BR was 1.3, the left foot was 0.7. I attribute this deterioration to the fact that I had been unable to walk distances with offloading required to heal my DFU. The DFU healed after a long struggle. The first walk I took after the healing was a shock. I couldn’t walk a 1/4 mile before I had to sit down. I’m going through the painful process of walking with PAD and I’m walking 2 miles in a little less than an hour, 3 times a week. I also swim once/week and do the elliptical, and bike once a week for about a hour. These exercises don’t cause any pain. How long to I have to continue with walking before I can return to my normal pace of walking 2 miles in 40 minutes? Will the pain continue for ever?
Likely, sadly as there is no cure other than major lifestyle changes to keep your cholesterol low and out of your blood. Google apheresis for high cholesterol. The good thin about this condition is you must continue to be active and move, move, move as much as possible. My wife and I walk 2 to 3 miles every other day or so...we manage but I have 22 conditions mostly vascular issues w aneurysm and blood clots only 63...
I was diagnosed with PAD after having blood clot removed from behind my knee in 2023..it was 6 months after having COVID. The Vasc surgeon said the clot was covid related. I left the hospital having to take 2 strong blood thinners, a statin and an 81mg aspirin daily. 7months later I was back in the ER with a baseball size hematoma on my hand. Vasc dr took me off 1 of the blood thinners. As of today I'm only taking the statin and an 81mg aspirin. I'd like to get off the statin as it causes terrible leg cramps in my calves. I see the Vasc dr tomorrow. I'm hoping she considers taking me off them. I've had sciatica for almost 4months now and it's just compounding the statin pains.
My best to everyone here suffering - sending you a virtual hug! xo
Hello, I was diagnosed with PAD last year and a bakers cyst on the back of my left knee. Circulation in left leg worst than right. I exercise regularly and eat clean. Don’t smoke either. My legs ache at night and are restless, keeping me from a good night’s sleep. Any suggestions or advice. Thanks

I have peripheral artery disease, after many attempts to save my legs I'm now a bilateral above knee amputee. 🙃.
Still have pain at end of stumps and hip. This will be my new normal I guess,
Best of luck to anyone else here!

Stop taking it and force them to put you on something more effective or stronger, period. You have to stand up for yourself!

Yes I was diagnosed 2023. I have had a leg bypass July/2024 on my right leg and a angiogram on my left leg in 2024 and recently 2 weeks ago.
