Pacemaker problem?

Posted by mbauxd @mbauxd, 10 hours ago

Ok. Just got out of hospital. My pacemaker is three weeks old. Went to ER with very low blood pressure, shortness of breath, coughing from bronchitis. After many test and and echo cardiograms, I have fluid around my heart. I'm a little discouraged right now to say the least. Five more meds added. Is this just a freak thing that happened to me?
Enjoy each day you have.

It would not be a 'freak thing', Sue....it surely has a cause, and it can be detected if you are observed and diagnosed diligently. It could be kidney function, low blood pressure (which the kidneys play a major role in managing), poor electrolyte balance, (low sodium would be common), a faulty pacemaker or one whose settings need a more concerted effort by an expert,.....several possibilities. It's fixable, but it may not happen by tonight......sorry.
