Pacemaker?
In previous posts I have indicated that I have apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, ventricular tachycardia, bradycardia, and some morphing. So far, I have had a boat load of tests, numerous medications with dosages increased, decreased, and dropped. I take my blood pressure twice a day, and the readings are up and down. I also have a loop recorder that sends the days heart rhythms electronically to my team of urologists. I am still experiencing times of lightheadedness, low pulse 38-40, and at times a little nausea. The electrophysiologist is considering a pacemaker. My question is, how does a pacemaker react with all of the above.? I know they are intended to keep your rhythms more consistent, but what about the cardiomyopathy? Is a pacemaker worth it, and will I still keep the implanted loop recorder. I have a phone appointment next Tues. with the electrophysiologist. What questions should I be asking?

@ch665296f Hi, I am not familiar with all your conditions I had before my transplant cardiomyopathy and ventricular tachycardia, kind of interesting you had both tachy and brady but I did have a pacemaker with difibulator and it helped me a lot with my Tarchycardia, I would get into a really fast heart rate and have to be shocked back into rhythm but mostly it would pace me out of episodes. So yes I recommend them, also it will record so the loop recorder would not be needed. And these days they are so sophisticated that they solve many different types of problems. Let us know what you decide and ask any questions you may have.
Have a Blessed Day
