Open chest ascending aortic aneurysm repair for patients in their 80s

Anyone who has had open chest aortic aneurysm repair in their 80s? My dad is at UCSF after a failed endoscopic repair of an ascending aortic aneurysm that is leaking. I’m told open chest repair will require a bypass and that his chance of survival is low. His heart held up well during the endoscopic repair and I want to pursue any possible solution on his behalf. I could really use some help making the decision and welcome any thoughtful advice or guidance.
