Anyone taking Wegovy (semaglutide GLP-1 drug) without a gallbladder?

@barbaraspainhour - I'm not a medical professional, but I have taken semaglutide (Wegovy) personally. The first time I was on it a couple years ago, I got so sick (massive abdominal pains and churning, nausea, random vomiting, diarrhea daily) that I finally asked to change to another GLP-1. I did, and about the time I got to the highest dose, my insurance stopped covering it. I could have ordered from the manufacturer, but by that point, I'd lost only 1 pound and was not sure that medication was working for me. Plus, paying the manufacturer would be a high price to sustain in one's monthly budget.

When I was sick on the semaglutide, I was put on ondansetron (Zofran) like you mentioned. However, it only sort of helped me with prevention of nausea - it was still there a lot of the time.

I do think it's worth journaling and seeing if there are any correlations with what you eat or drink while on the semaglutide and your nausea. I did see it occur more when eating out and sometimes when I drank something alcoholic.

For this second time on the medication (since I did lose 53 pounds on it and my insurance is covering it again), a pharmacist is directing me to go very, very slowly titrating up in dose. It's making a big difference. He is having me take each dose for three months. The progress level is crazymaking - really not losing yet - but the side effects are so much better with giving my body a chance to become accustomed to each dosage.

Have you and your doctor looked at the option of slowing your titration up at all?
