I have not started the wegovy yet, I did pick up my script from the pharmacy. I’m still nervous lol

I'm on Ozempic (previously on Zepbound), in part to lose the weight I put on after bariatric surgery a decade ago. My gallbladder was removed in conjunction with the bariatric surgery. None of my physicians have brought this up as any sort of factor to consider, either before I started on the Zepbound or once I began grappling with the side effects of the drug. So it is, in fact, news to me that it might matter.

Same issue for years. However it takes the gall bladder to process fats or you have loose stools. Finally I was told to take Bile Salts (I use Good Apple Nutritionals as they are small). I take 2 once or twice a day before eating and no more loose stools. Many take 2-3 before each meal. Works wonders. Also you might consider taking fiber gummies up to 2-4 g daily. Chew well. Best to you.

I’m curious as to this too? I was on wegovy for 6 months, after the medicine causing a large stone to get stuck in my duct and a bunch of tiny stones in my gallbladder…I had to have it removed. My pcp did tell me it’s ok to start up on my wegovy but I’m nervous and wanted to see what others had to say. It only makes me nervous bc there’s not much info on this yet

Hi. I’ve been on Wegovy since 12/2022. I’ve lost 100 lbs. I also, do not have a gallbladder and thanks too @max2 for the tip on the salts - of course no one has ever mentioned that. I take my injection every Sunday. The nausea is usually just. The first day now and manageable. I use chewable papaya enzyme (Walmart, cvs) for that. I have to “make “ myself eat most days. And have to be super conscious about protein intake so that I don’t lose muscle mass and have extra loose skin. Also, if you can (even one session), talk with a dietitian about what works best for you and how you are proceeding. You need a balanced diet and it should be timed so you don’t get hypoglycemic (low blood sugar). I’m here if you have any questions. Best of luck!!
