Nuclear Stress Test-Terrified
Hi
I am scheduled for a nuclear stress test next month after finding out I have a high CAC Score.
Has anyone had a nuclear stress test? If so, please explain the process.
I’m mostly freaked out about the medicine that is injected to stress your heart.
I seriously do not want to do this test, but I know I need to, to find out if I have any blockage(s).
Please share…
Thank you

@tallbackhip, are you wondering how things turned out for @myg68 after the nuclear stress test she was worried about?

1 ReactionI’ve have had it twice.
It’s easy and fast. It’s over very quickly.
I can’t tell you how to feel, but you will be amazed by how easy it is.
It’s all depends upon how an individual tolerates it. it is very painful for me, but my sister has had a few and felt fine, and had no pain or anything. The last one that I had two years ago, two cardiologist rushed in to tell me that I had a blockage and then I had to have an immediate angiogram, and might need open-heart surgery. It scared me to death. I called a local church and had a priest come and anoint me, and pray over me. Then they took me for the angiogram and found no blockages. Praise you Jesus. You will probably do fine and it’s something that you really need to have. Even if you do experience discomfort, it will be over. Prayers for you and good results.
Everyone is different. I've had it twice. I had very significant blockages so the first test was hardest. There was no pain at all, just shortness of breath and it was scary at first, but the techs were great in warning me and I got through it. The uncomfortable part lasted only seconds. The second one was after I had stents places and was easier. It is a miracle test that shows them so much more than they were able to see in the past. And for this I am grateful to science and the medical folks who care for me.
