Anyone experienced nipple soreness post menopause?

Posted by margaret902 @margaret902, Sep 23, 2012

I am 58, post menopausal. Within about the last week my nipples have become tender, similar to how it used to feel before or on my period. They also are more flat, and the aereola is less pink than normal. They used to change with temperature, but now seem to be more flattened out in general. I don't feel sick otherwise, and am not on any medications. Anyone out there who has experienced this kind of change or tenderness?

I am also experiencing this symptom and am post menopausal. Also my breasts feel fuller...not what I am seeking! I exercise regularly and I eat pretty healthy. I get MRIs and Mammograms - one or the other every six months due to being considered high risk and have dense breasts. My mom had breast cancer- they think due to HRT, she does not have the breast cancer genes. I was only checked for a couple but didn't have them either, but seems me and my sister would not have that either. I am due for a mammogram soon..I believe it is this month but not sure. I don't take HRT.

Curious if your mom was taking premarin.
There are new studies that talk about the positive outcomes of transdermal bhrt/hrt using estradiol.
