Newly Diagnosed SVT and on Metropolol.
Hello, new here and am reaching out to see and read other's experiences. 50 yr old here and my symptoms became more and more frequent. Cardiologist put me on a lose dose Metropolol. This is new to me and definitely alarming when the occur. I would love to hear any feedback about how to deal with them and your quality of life. Thank you all in advance.

@tlaun44 Welcome! And you are doing great! You are educating yourself about it. Also dehydration can bring on Heart SVTs. (Forgot to include that.) Also chocolate has caffeine in it. Your EP appointment will be here before you know it! And may you find a more caring cardiologist with an appointment that is more sooner than later, yes!
@tlaun44 My Cardiologist (Canada) gave ne 420 mg
Magnesium
along with 1 1/2 tabs of Metopolol 25 mg Am and PM
in Nov 2025 and I haven't had an AF episode since
and this is now end of July 2026. I am so happy. I take my Magnesium at bedtime as it relaxes me.
Hi. Good luck with metoprolol. I had fatigue and dead/sore legs almost immediately. Dropping dose to 25 mg helped a lot. Was prescribed for atrial flutter.
