Neuropathy?

Posted by somanyquestions @somanyquestions, Mar 19 3:27pm

My feet feel like they have socks on, I don’t; my genitals feel prickly, burn; I am a little incontinent; my scalp itches always, I have very low vitamin B (had B-12 injection, taking sublingual oral pill). I am taking Creon for my pancreas dysfunction; I have controlled diabetes. I’ve been to a urogynecologist ( no definitive answer), neurosurgeon (nerves in spine are not damaged enough to cause). Is it some kind of neuropathy? Who should I see next? Thank you.

Welcome @somanyquestions, From what I have read about 50% of people who have diabetes also develop neuropathy. Mayo Clinic has some information on diabetic neuropathy that might help with understanding the relationship - https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetic-neuropathy/symptoms-causes/syc-20371580. A neurologist would be the specialist for diagnosing neuropathy.

Have you discussed the symptoms with your primary care doctor for a referral to a specialist/neurologist?

Hi,
Find a good Neurologist and have them check your ANS, Autonomic nervous system. I have similar symptoms, T2 uncontrolled, so far and had B12 problems, although it is still low I'm just above the recommended low level. There are many types of neuropathy grouped under the title of Dysautonomia with varied symptoms.
Cheers
