1 Reaction@scoop Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide a molecule that is found in every cell that make energy from the food we eat. It helps support muscles, brain & heart cells and bones. As we get older the body produces less.
I find my energy is not close to what it was and am seeking support of my cells to age healthier.

1 ReactionI take both in pill form, 600 mg each, once a day. But I don't know if that's efficacious for bronchiectasis. It would be nice to know. Does anybody out there know?
@nickraosr NAC does help with mucus thinning/reduction for some people with Bronchiectasis - at dosages between 600-1200mg daily. Some people nebulize it instead. For me, I get the same results from Mucinex, so I stopped it because of the nasty taste. There are a number of discussions about it in this group.
NAD has been show to reduce inflammation for people with COPD, but has not been studied (yet) for Bronchiectasis. I have not tried it. (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11645284/)
In general, I am leery of supplements because they are not regulated, so much research is required to find brands that undergo testing for purity and potency.
How do you choose the supplements you buy?

@sueinmn I read reviews online. Solicit input from those who have or are taking them. See what Mayo and Cleveland Clinic has to say along with Chat GPT

1 Reaction@sueinmn I recently found an app called Suppco that helps with finding some of the best quality supplements. You can look for new supplements, or put in your own supplements you currently take, and it will rate and rank them. I found it to be helpful in finding what they show to be better quality supplements. They break it down by cost too.

3 ReactionsNMN is a precursor to NAD (which is a precursor to ATP) and has shown to have better bioavailability in supplement form than NAD taken directly. NMN for me has been a game changer in energy levels. The studies are extremely encouraging in regard to strength, particularly for those with chronic illnesses and/or elderly. In other words, it does nothing for those that don't need it. I know of one-person thar experienced fatigue when taking NMN but when reviewing reviews, none of the reviewers mentioned fatigue, rather many mentioned an uptick in energy.
