Need information on Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid.

I have been battling MMP since October, it is better, but I'm on so many meds that they are ruining my teeth. Is anyone else having this issue?
How many different medications are their for this? Anything natural you can do to help with the gums and blisters?
I know they say this can come from many things combined but, I truly believe mine was too much stress in my life last year.

I am also having problems with blisters and very red gums. The cause is pemphigoid. Lots of pain. My dentist made 2 mouth pieces and is having me try Triamcinolone (Kenolog). I am not sure it is working but am trying. I was on Imuran but had bad side effects. I am off all meds. The drug Tradjenta caused my bullous pemphigoid.

Thank you for the information. Mucous Membrane Pemphigoid is a little different than Bullous Pemphigoid. I have it in the mouth and being treated with Clobetasol Gel in mouth trays. I may have to take an oral steroid, which I don't want to do if possible. I was wondering if there were any natural ways to cope with MMP. I recently read about concerns of taking probiotics if you have autoimmunity disorder. I have been taking probiotics for years and now decided to stop and see if that makes a difference.

I have MMP in my mouth, left nostril, and eyes. I use a mouth rinse, Taculimus, and it certainly helps. Early on, when I didn't have a diagnosis, I use Dental Pro 7. It is a herbal mixture from the UK. I sometimes put it on my toothbrush and brush my teeth. I sometimes put a few drops in a small cup of water and swish and spit. I also have put a few drops on my finger and rub it over any break out areas in my mouth. I am followed by dermatology for my mouth, ENT for my nose and ophthalmology for my eyes.

Unreal..someone researched got you! Are you in the UK? It’s interesting that the toothpaste you mentioned is only available in the UK! The doc said the amount of prednisone you absorb will me too small to affect anything as I was worried about weakening the bones & was hesitant…I will try a compounding place and Amazon for the tooth paste!
Thanks.

The Dental Pro 7 is not a toothpaste. It is a liquid herbal solution. I am in WA state.

Hi,

I was diagnosed with MMP a few months ago. I have been on steroids, mouth rinse, clobetasol, Doxycycline HYC. Now they have cut back to 20 mg of steroids and have added mycophenolate (this medicine the possible side effects scare me). I still have blisters in my mouth and arms, I'm wondering how long before all of this works. My mouth is better, gums are no longer bleeding or that sore. Has anyone tried eating better food / no gluten and it resolved the issues?

I am on Dapsone 50 mg a day. I cannot take Mycophenolate. It Caused an increase in my BP. I can't take many drugs because I am allergic to yellow dye and compound. I have asked about taking something more natural but there doesn't seem to be enough information on reactions to this condition. I also have the mmp in my left nostril. My ENT has tried several gels, etc. He also did several tests to see if it was an infection. I am now using a dab of vancomyscin in each nostril 3 times a week. I started out using it twice a day.

I have not lost any teeth, I had an upper tooth that feels funny. My gums had been very irritated above this tooth. One day while eating lunch I noticed that it just didn't feel right. No pain, no looseness. I went to my dentist, She put ice on it. She tapped on it, Nothing. After several months now, I feel a bit os sensation with very cold drinks. I am able to eat on that side. It seems to be okay. She thinks that my gums in that area got very irritated that it affected the root. Thankfully, no sign of loosing it.

Has anyone tried turmeric/curcumin or other natural or homeopathic aids for MMP, especially for inflammation and sores in the mouth?
Thanks.

Have you tried the turemic/curcumin combo on your gums? If so, did it work?

Do you mean you take a medicine, tacrolimus? If so, then this is an immune surpressant. I use it for an organ transplant.

I have had 2 gum biopsies to determine that I do have MMP. It started out in my mouth. I had the first mouth sores while on cymbalta. I also have it in my eyes. I first noticed what looked like bands in the outer aspect of my left eye. I now have them in the inner aspect of my left eye and outer aspect of my right eye. I am limited in taking the top 3 prescribed medications because I am allergic to yellow dye and yellow compound. I would like to know what medication/s other s are taking for this condition.

I’m just going to start my first treatment with Dapsone. In left eye about 8 months.
