Mobitz type 1-2 heartblock

I was dx with Mobitz Type 1 heart block along with vasovagal syncope . I have a heart rate that drops down to 30-40s. I experience extreme dizziness and I am taking Midodrine 10mg 3xs a day with no relief. There is another medication to try but refuse to due to weight gain. I may eventually need a pacemaker but I have not fainted as of yet. Does anyone else have this issue and if so what have you done? And when can you get a pacemaker? Do you have to wait until you start passing out?

I had first degree heart block, then right bundle branch block, then a pre-syncopal spell with a heart rate in the high 30s. A Zio patch showed nothing else but 1-2 months later I developed complete heart block requiring an emergency pacemaker. 3 years later I had a ventricular fibrillation cardiac arrest. A cardiologist ordered a cardiac MRI which had not been mentioned when I had the heart block. It suggested amyloid cardiomyopathy, a rare but treatable condition. Don't wait until you pass out, make sure you are seeing a doctor with expertise in cardiac rhythm problems and that they have considered what might be the cause for this. Best wishes for getting good care!
