As I have written previously, CBD alone helped me reduce my oxycodone use from 6 to 4 a day PRN. Adding THC to the CBD (much easier and safer) helps me deal with my chronic pain better emotionally and throughout my day. I have no expectations of being totally pain free since I cannot use any anti inflammatory OTC or prescription drugs and never had back injections. I use buprenorphine patch 20mcg/7 days routinely, drink green tea, take turmeric 2000mg/day and eat an anti inflammatory diet. Except for my chronic level 5-6 back and leg pain I’m in the best shape I’ve ver been in for 69.

The doctors in my state don’t work with patients using THC and I wondered if other states allow it. Makes so much sense, to me. But since I use that medicinally I can’t get pain relief. I primarily use it for increased appetite.

Yes they do and 26 states have medical marijuana programs. Whets do you reside?

I live in a state with very good laws about marijuana, but there are still few medical professionals willing to discuss palliative help with any drugs. There is still a stigma and still illegal federally absurdly.

Sadly, I find marijuana intensifies my pains. Particularly foot and leg. Nothing I do relieves it, massage feels good but gives no long-term effects. I have to wait until it wears off. Am I doing too much? Not enough?

The url I included speaks to how to use CBD oil to benefit yourself. I’ve been successful in using cannabis to relieve my PN and back pain due to OA. I found cannabis alone did not help me but when I increased my CBD and decreased my THC after a year I found my sweet spot. If you’re in a MMJ state you should be able to find product with dosing quantities. With flower unless you’ve got a chemistry degree determining the THC and CBD in plant is difficult. I too found that high THC caused me to have increased pain sensation.

As an American who's been living in England for many years, my pain specialist prescribed me Sativex Oromucosal Spray (3 vials) and very expensive - £400.
Though it temporarily helped with my chronic foot pain, I won't get it again since it made me sleepy, dizzy and almost paranoid.

My Dearly recently departed Brother swore on the stuff..he never took pain
medication, only his marijuana!
When I am asked my physicians if I do any recreational drugs I tell them No but I am about to..as with my medical PAIN conditions their medications do not work.
But here in Florida being on Disability who can afford the medical license for it let alone the expense for it, UNLESS you get it off the street and who knows
IF it's gonna work
Just MY opinion

Plain CBD was not effective for muting the pain of my osteo-arthritis. I have no cartilage left in either knee area. The pain is variable, but always there. I finally found relief with CBD Delta 9 with THC. I consume it as gummies, and the amount I ingest costs between $5 and $8 a dose. I don't use it every day. I'm 70 years old and on a very fixed income. (I own a condo built in 1940. My pension and Social Security together add up to $1500 a month.)

@ctpaul, and all...I've been using a 1x1 tincture with CBD/THC for several years for whole-body pain and anxiety. I take 1 dropper at night before bed. I am virtually pain-free most nights. It helps me tremendously, but I am also on a limited income and can't afford the 6-month cash pay visit to the doctor to renew my prescription. It's $250 cash per visit. The annual fee for the Florida MM card is $75. The dispensary costs are quite high, so I have forgone the prescription visits.

I found a CBD online that's made by a female doctor and company, with good herbal ingredients to help with stress, anxiety, discomfort, pain, and hormone issues. It's called Winged Wellness. I take 1 or 2 gummies each night of their product, Sleep, before bed.

To try them for pain relief, after researching the ingredients and thinking it had possibilities, I also bought the Relief supplement they offer. It's for pain and discomfort and is also filled with herbal ingredients, including Tumerec which I can't take alone due to stomach issues. These Relief capsules are providing me with better pain relief than anything I've used over the counter or prescription. I don't understand this at all.

I was on many heavy pain medications for many years. They were helpful but I endured multiple side effects, i.e. brain fog, memory issues, worsening balance issues, and several others. I worked with my Mayo doctor who weaned me off each one gradually. 2 years ago, I was off all heavy pain meds and began my journey with medical marijuana.

I'm now more my real self than I can remember...I have pain, but it's different now and I'm not feeling like someone else with a brain and body not working as it should due to meds. So, I'm much improved. I'm happier and better physically at 76 years of age than I've been for many years. Thanks to my Mayo doctors, getting off multiple pain meds and using this combination of CBD and herbal ingredients from this company. I don't use the tincture anymore from the dispensary. I don't pay for MM prescriptions or dispensary costs. I've seen no ill effects from this change, only good things, and improvements.

Naturally, I've worked very hard at taking control of my life, my health, my medical care, and my mental health. This approach, working to heal from within and focusing on being my health and life advocate, is giving me more life, longer life, and a much happier outlook on life, even with the crazy health issues I still have.

I hope this helps some of you find your better self and some relief as you walk this journey.
Blessings. Elizabeth
