Does Medical marijuana work for chronic pain. Looking for alternatives to Vicodin.

Sadly, I find marijuana intensifies my pains. Particularly foot and leg. Nothing I do relieves it, massage feels good but gives no long-term effects. I have to wait until it wears off. Am I doing too much? Not enough?

God bless you my friend. I wish I had an answer for you I haven't gotten that far, my Gabapentin still works but my doctor tells me that there's a limit to it and that he will have to start using other medicines. I kind of been on that Merry-Go-Round before so it's a little bit scary but maybe with Lord's help that he's helped me in the past with medication. and they'll find something that will help or maybe Loma Linda if I can ever get to go out there they have a Loma Linda Medical neuropathy Clinic that that claims they've been had success with rejuvenating dead nerves and I have leg nerve pain and neuropathy in my feet. I also have degenerative disc and sciatica I don't have to use a cane or a walker like a friend of mine that has neuropathy but my feet are definitely getting worse and I can feel the leg nervepain more and it seems like that it's moving up my legs into my midsection. I pray and ask for prayer all the time and just ask the Lord to help me day by day and try to plan ahead

Also please pray for me that I can stop drinking coffee if they can't if the Lord is leading me that way and it seems to be that he is possibly I have read that caffeine aggravates the nurse as well as sugar and salt from the American diabetic Association one person told me it did another person told me it didn't that they didn't have any information on that also Calgary neuropathy Association had told me that the caffeine sugar and salt were three of other substances that cause aggravation to the nerves and neuropathy and would increase the pain I don't know my doctor told me it was okay to drink a little coffee I've asked other people at pharmacist at CVS told me that he had an addiction with coffee that he was working on and that coffee was in the top five addictive drugs

Our body problems are very similar. I had a fusion 9 years ago, which was a God-send, but as my doc told me at that time, above & below it will carry more and wear. Now it’s back arthritic degeneration, the neuropathy, extreme hammertoes(10), and more recently shoulder pain. A year ago, after a calderal (sp?) epidural steroid shot, I could barely walk. I think it damaged nerves. PT put me on a cane which helped. I’ve been in a more recent PT session and strength is returning to my legs & feet and a cane is not always needed.

My friend when I first found out that I had degenerative disc from an x-ray that was taken when I told my doctor that my right ankle was swelling up and aching when I would go to the grocery store and push a cart or walk much he they sent me to physical therapy. I went twice and I tried not to overdo it in the pool but it brought on extreme pain in my back, there were nights when I moaned on the couch all night and my wife couldn't sleep and she told me that I was keeping everyone awake in the four unit apartment building where we lived. I went to the emergency room and they took a CAT scan and the doctor said you have a bad back they gave me this cat scan and some steroids and and referred me to my primary doctor he put me on tramadol and Tizanidine muscle relaxer I was on that from November until halfway through January I was scheduled to go in the first of February to a pain management doctor and get injections in my spine he had told me that the slight chance of paralysis or death very slight he said like the chances of me getting hit by a car crossing the street were greater I then took the medicine for that period of time and about 2 weeks before I was scheduled to go in for my first injection the pain started listening as an answer to prayer I believe I didn't have to go in my primary doctor and the pain management doctor at the hospital told me if you don't have pain anymore you don't need to come in for the injection I never have got it and the pain hasn't been that severe and I haven't had to go back on tramadol or muscle relaxers since then but I do have pain slight pain from the sciatica and both legs hip and back and the degenerative spine my neuropathy and my legs and feet are my biggest concern because my doctor has had to up my Gabapentin for the third time in about 3 years and he told me there's a limit and I wonder what's going to happen when I reach that limit

The Vicodin is better especially if your pain becomes worse. I can get an idea as to how severe the pain is at the moment by how long a 5 mg lasts-0-4 hours. Do you need both?

Just said a prayer for people, especially children living in pain.
I’m having another spine surgery on April 19th. Have worked really hard to build strength for the best results. I have 2 pain specialist who say that caging 2 lumbar vertebrae is the next step and it should help with 1/2 of my pain. No cure for fibromyalgia or arthritis but I’m blessed to be cancer free.
I scheduled a consultation with neurosurgeon at Mayo Phoenix location but am reconsidering because Rochester has been rated #1 for so many years…any thoughts?

From time to time I take the edible gummies (THC/CBD). They definitely help with pain; however I find them to be VERY dehydrating. If you do use it, I would recommend increasing your water intake. Dehydration can make you feel awful in itself. ❤️
