Masturbation at late age

Posted by newrochelle1131 @newrochelle1131, Feb 27, 2025

Is it normal for men over 70 (without medical prob;ems) to masturbate? How often? Any adverse effects? Are there natural ways to increase the production of seminal fluid?

@mekvg1 for me at 73 I find if I don’t ejaculate every 3-4 days I’m frustrated. I’ve a fairly high sex drive I think for my age. Sex enters my head frequently though not as much as when I was younger. Diet and exercise are the best things in my opinion you can do. And I don’t drink which is a huge help.

@jandrews76107 IMO from experience, exercise is the first thing to do to keep it working

Same with me. I don't preach the Bible, but I feel like I'm violating the rule relating to lust. I wish there was some way that I could know that what is a natural bodily function, would keep me from being happy after I leave this earth.

@royanthony I struggled with that when I did use porn a long time ago. Now I just concentrate on what my wife and I had prior to her injuries and lack of lubrication. I actually enjoy oral also on her even and it is a great turn on when I see her get off. but now even that is not something she likes anymore. so it's my memories that help me masturbate and I figured if I'm in my mind doing it with my wife how can I be doing anything against what God gave us as married couple. Just my take on it

@royanthony You are using the word "lust" wrong. In the Biblical sense when it is referred to in a negative way that hurts people, the situations are like fixating on masturbation with oneself in a marriage but ignoring your wife and not having sex with her. Or becoming addicted to masturbation to the extent that it overwhelms your life like alcoholism. Or fetishizing brutal and dehumanizing fantasies. Those are "unhealthy " on a personal and relational basis, and those are the situations described when lust (and masturbation as in spilling seed) are referred to.

However, just regular masturbation with fun positive fantasies that doesn't create personal or relational problems is healthy - emotionally and biologically.

I am 56 and had green light procedure in 2015 due to an enlarged prostrate. I haven’t looked back since. I haven’t had to get up in the middle of the night to urinate. The only drawback is the retrograde ejaculation I acquired. My wife misses it more than I do as it’s just a mind thing now. Sex, masturbation still feels great, now without any of the cleanup
