Glutathione: What dosage do you use? Where do you get it?

Posted by kathleenlp @kathleenlp, Apr 4, 2022

Hi! Yes, I have ALL these but doing surprisingly well...mostly asymptomatic. Got HMPV at Christmas, pretty sick but bounced back. On a mission to try some out of the box treatments to keep me well. If you have used glutathione in a nebulizer, can you tell me who (type doctor) prescribed and what dosage etc. and did you think it helped? Also Sodium Chloride.

I am waiting for my medical records from Kaiser and will forward them to the Arina-1 researcher for review. The study is testing a combination of vitamin C and glutathione in a nebulized solution. And, yes, our help is important to find a treatment that helps those of us suffering from bronchiectasis. I am not sure whether I'll be accepted but I do believe this is a study worth considering.

I asked my doctor about this and was told that patients who are undergoing drug treatment for MAC cannot enroll in this trial. That makes sense, since they are testing its effectiveness in bronchiectasis. One trial objective at a time. It is possible that, in the near future, they will enroll MAC patients.

It is hard waiting because we are currently battling all of this. Compiling results after these trials takes time, and sometimes the trials themselves last quite a while.

In the meantime, inhale deeply and breathing out fully during nebulizing, as well as using NAC orally, are helpful.

Hi Rosnatale3, I have not used the glutathione yet. The link I sent has the directions. I will be trying it out once I receive the product.
As far as saline goes, my dr initially vetoed it. But, because of the research info and the supportive comments by our group members, I kept after my dr for a Rx. She finally agreed. Since she was apprehensive, I decided to start out with the 3% solution. It was well tolerated so I switched to the 7%. Since using it, my cough has improved a lot. And, yes, when I neb with the saline I cough. I look at it as a positive thing. I am bringing up mucus and isn't that what it's all about? Getting the mucus up and out of the lungs.

By the way, you need not depend on your dr to prescribe the saline. You can get it on Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09X65F4PB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Or, if you want to save money, get your dr to write a prescription and use GoodRx coupon - https://www.goodrx.com/ As for Medicare, I am not familiar with it and do not know if it covers the cost.
I hope this helps. Best of luck to you!

Thanks so much for the information I really appreciate it I have Saline I got it from Amazon I ordered the glutathione but I can't imagine mixing a powder in with the saline and inhaling a powder doesn't seem safe to me it would be happier if the glutathione was a liquid. I know once it mixes together it's not going to be a powder but still seems like they could be remnants of a powder and you have to keep it sterile so you can't go putting it in blenders. Tell me what you think about this

Hi, I really cannot comment here as I am inexperienced with Glutathione and will be trying it for the first time myself when I receive the product. There are instructions on the link I sent and I will follow them to see if it works for me. I do believe one of the other group members mentioned that there is a liquid form. I would ask your doctor about it . Maybe they can prescribe liquid form. Good luck.

Thank you for all this wonderful treatment information. I am very new to this and have ordered the 7% saline and now the Glutathione plus from the above website. So, am I to understand that you mix the Glutathione with the saline? Please be a little more specific. I see that the one from above has some Satria in it as well. Thanks so much for all of your help. I'm waiting on a different Dr. the one I originally went to did not like that I could not tolerate the antibiotics, so he said do nothing then. I asked about the Saline, and he said No it would make you cough too much. So, I am at this time untreated and trying to do all I can to keep it from getting worse.

@rosnatale3 , Yes you mix the glutathione with the saline. I've been nebulizing with glutathione for a couple of years now. It's so funny that they're now doing a clinical trial testing it after all these years. If you get it in capsule form just open the capsule and mix it in with the saline and if you get liquid glutathione same thing. Nan

Has anyone nebulized glutathione and what were the effects. I only have the pure powder form that I’ve tried. Most doctors won’t prescribe it. If fact my pulmonologist had never heard of it by that name. But I see l aceytalcestine in my formulary.

Thanks, I’m an Alpha-1 SZ and have since been diagnosed with mild bronchiectasis and just found out a month ago positive for MAC . Only treatment I have been receiving is azithromycin every other day for the last 11 months. My first Mac test were screwed, so a year later the next came back positive as suspected from my Shands doctors. Still the same treatment so far as it is taking forever to see another pulmonologist since my Shands doctor is retiring. My breathing and O2 is getting lower and struggling to breathe most
of the time. I can feel a change and it’s hard to get help in the medical world these days. I’ll try almost anything to breathe better.

It dissolves well with hypertonic Saline. It’s nasty and hard to inhale but haven’t done it long enough to know if it’s helping. I bought Theraputic grade on Amazon. Powder form. And mix 1/3 of a capsule per 4ml of saline.

Hello nannette, have you been taking the antibiotics while using glutatione? You say you have been using it for a couple of years. Thanks
