MAC/ Bronchiectasis and guidance on vaccine maintenance?

Are any MAC/Bronchiectasis planning on taking the new Covid 19 vaccine?

Yep. Though I'm a young 64, I am high risk due to MAI/BE and therefore qualified. I already have an appt on 10/16 at my local CVS where I've gotten all my vaccines, so they know me well.

Yes same! Definitely! We are at high risk and covid is not benign especially in the age group many of us land in and with BE (and-or MAC).

I got a booster end of July and plan to get the vaccine this fall. My pulmonologist and Penn's immunologist both encourage vaccine updates since we're at high risk for bad outcomes with Covid.
I questioned and procrastinated getting this last booster since I also have an autoimmune condition that, while not deadly, it can be miserable. I'd been in a flare for months and vaccines can increase flares. I sought a second opinion from a Penn immunologist about my treatment plan and several questions, one being boosters. She made her opinion VERY clear that I should get the vaccines and boosters. Btw, I didn't get worse with booster.

I am still not convinced.

I had the original Pfizer Covid vaccines and never have had a booster. I'm not convinced about the boosters either. I have had vaccines for shingles and pneumonia (last year) due to recurrent pneumonias since 2020. Last one was a year ago. Praying never again. I had the flu in February (1st time in like forever) and have never had the flu shot. I'm not anti vax by no means but no pro taking every vaccine out there either. Will be reading more about them for sure.

Yes, am doing that also. I had 3 as I work as a nurse and ended with COVID last Christmas . And I know others who had the same.

Yes, planning on doing flu, Covid and pneumonia end of September/ early October but will probably split them up. The NP at my pulmonologist office had previously advised she had no issue writing a referral if I need it to qualify for the Covid vax. Now that the guidance changed it looks like it will be needed.

As a nurse and what you've seen are you convinced boosters help? Can still get it but symptoms lessened?
