I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

I went to my appointment today which turned out ok. He was very nice and so happy I had brought pet Scan disk with me. He needed it he said that the other Pulmonologist and he had talked but needed to see Scan. When I asked if he thought it was cancer, he said as of now it's undefined? He thought we needed to do scope which he got me in next Wednesday. He didn't have any earlier. But he also told me we'll know what we're dealing with when he's done bc he has a pathologist that works with him right there @ hospital. I also lost 6 pounds ( which I need to), but I worry that it's the cancer although I am sticking with my calories via MyFitnessPal and stressed? Prayers

I able to pay it forward before I'm called home. I'm not saying I won't have a possible bump in the road ahead but I have to let go of what I can't control too.

Pattymac......since it sounds like the door has closed for you to go to Mayos for evaluation, go on line to nationaljewish.org.....get their phone number and see if going there could occur......they provide financial assistance I believe.
They are in Denver....which has lots of air travel....for low rates.
I went for 7 days.....I am one of the 20% of those with MAC who do not require treatment at this point.....they used an extensive CAT Scan .....and results of 3 sputum cultures obtained during my January visit there....Dr Huitt and mycobacterium group felt that I was silently aspirating MAC from tap water I drank ....as a result of my GERD?
The medical care there was no doubt the best available. Terrid

WOW Terri that is tremendous!!! Thank you for sharing this and I am overjoyed you had a clear course and clarity in diagnosis. I'm astonished at the specifics of your situation, the good and not-so-good. Are you doing better now? That is one sweet picture!

My Pulmonoligist here is referring me to one in Munster Indiana bc he said he doesn't have equipment to do bronchoscopy here which is weird bc it's same hospital affiliation? So Tuesday is my appt with him to set appt for biopsy and this is all frustrating and scary but I will also get a second opinion as well. I'm reading more about how chemo is very bad and really good nutrition is better too.Why would radiation be a choice if it only kills the good cells?

Jms7... i wasnt in dire straights before I went to NJH in January for second opinion.....i had had a cough of 5 hours every evening for 2 years....local Doc did all tests and it was the bronchial washing from Bronchoscopy that grew MAC.....THe rush was to put me on the antibiotics....but i said no...not til I got the second opinion from experts at NJH. And they said no....my problem was my GERD and sleep apnea....will be getting new bed to sleep with head up....and also CPAP equipment?...thanks for asking Terrid

I LOVE using "Ezekiel" breads for croutons! They are very loaded in sprouted grains thus very nutritious. Slice into croutons and dry, then add the olive oil bit of vinegar, fresh basil, raw walnuts, heaven! LOL your 5-yr-old granddaughter! So sweet! More soon, good night! Focus on anything that makes you smile, because that is where the power is! Planning a healing meal does wonders for the heart and soul, and helps others too. : )

Hello, I am sorry you are going through this right now. I am sending prayers your way. Please keep in mind that PET SCANS contain Glucose to help detect the cancerous cells BUT THAT IS SUGAR which feeds the cancer and makes it grow aggressively. PLEASE CONSIDER LIMITING THESE PET SCANS IF AT ALL! My sisters lung cancer spread VERY VERY AGGRESSIVELY in one week through her entire body, lymph nodes, liver, spine, intestines, abdomen, neck. SUGAR FEEDS CANCER!

@marzz, PLEASE do NOT continue to repeat/spread this MISINFORMATION on sugar on different areas of Mayo Connect.

It is INCORRECT information on sugar and will cause concern for ill people .. it is NOT a nice thing to do. It causes Colleen to have to each time place the below information that gives the CORRECT information. I know this is what YOU believe .. but please educate yourself to the correct more current data . It would be a service to yourself .. and to Mayo Connect I hope you understand and desist.
