Has your loved one been prescribed Seroquel for delusions?
Has anyone had there loved one's prescribed Seroquel for Alzheimer's with delusions and hallucinations ? Her doctor just prescribed it for her, and all that I have read it is not a first Choice ....only a last resort !
Any one had it for your LO and how did it work ? Thanks Barb

Hi.....met you today at the group meeting. We used risperidone for several years until it was no longer of any use to him. We realized this because his anxiety kept increasing. The doctors at Mayo told us to wean him off over a period of a month. We moved on to a good brand of CBD oil and that has made all of the difference in our ability to keep him at home.

3 Reactions@teacher502 I am glad you came today and shared with us. I think you opened our eyes to the reality of what is to come…I know mine were. I have read of people using the CBD Oil and have been wondering about the benefits of it over pharmaceutical drugs. My husband is on Memantine, and Rivastigmine (24/7 patch) both for memory, and Risperidone for the delusions/hallucinations and Sertraline to take the edge off…too many…but it scares me to think where he would be without them. How long have you been taking your husband to the Mayo Clinic?

We have been going to Mayo since 2018. He was admitted in to the research study in 2019 with probable Lewy Body and in 2020 with Lewy Body. In 2022 it was changed to Lewy Body with parkinsonism and probably co-mingled with alzheimers. We can talk more about this soon. I want to help you and your husband as much as I can. This is the hardest thing I have ever done, and it is comforting to be able to share to try to make things a bit easier...especially when there is a strong hope of keeping our loved ones at home.
