I have had some relatives seemingly to distance themselves. I think they are afraid they will have to help me long term. May I ask what your condition is that you would actually loose friends over it?

Whilst in not going thru the same as you medically, unfortunately I have lost all but 1 friend, and I'm starting to question if I even have that 1 friend left, the only times I hear from her is if I contact and she decides to answer, or its by obligation.
I'm lonely and don't days i think I'm losing my mind.
I have my kids here and my kids dad stays a few nights here to see there kids, but it's just not the same.
It's already hard to be such a complex case,so much so that specialists are giving up on my case, but the friends I thought were forever friends, the ones I thought I could lean on in times like these. It's hard.

@lisalucier I am not feeling well at all and the extra anxiety of having a non specific non conclusive result makes it that much worse. I do so appreciate your responses. 🤗

@melissa711 - wondering how you are doing and if you did get more conclusive results on your status with small vessel disease?

That is so kind of you to follow up. Regarding the small vessel situation- evidently it is pretty common and the only thing recommended is to continue to monitor my high blood pressure and cholesterol. I am not satisfied with this but as my journey continued I found that I have a whole plethora of spinal issues. I have gotten totally overwhelmed and have stepped away from all of it.

I am fortunate? to have full time nursing in our home. My wife has Parkinson's disease and I have vascular dementia. Last weekend, I was standing in the kitchen and I was feeling lightheaded and unsteady. I braced myself against the corner of the countertop. However, I lost consciousness and slumped to the floor and tipped over and banged my forehead on the tile floor. I was fortunate that the injuries were quite minor. But it was a wake up call that such a thing can happen. Now I ask my nurse to assist me going to the kitchen or to bed.

@aipulu - wow. Scary. You mentioned the injuries were minor, but did you need to get medical attention after banging your forehead? How has the healing gone?

It is hard to tell. I am getting so old my friends are dying. Those that are left have some problem of their own that they are dealing with.

You always find out who your true friends are during times of hardship. The strange thing for me was that it was usually those you didn't expect to care that stayed. I would like to know if others have seen that happen to them too.
