Long Term Ascending Aortic Aneurysm

I've had an Ascending Aortic Aneurysm of 4.6-4.7 for 12 years that has remained constant and my doctor tells me it is unlikely it will grow to 5.0 or more unless I do extensive lifting that would strain it causing it to grow or burst. Has anyone experienced a long-term no growth Aneurysm?

thanks david you have give me hope i have an aaa 6.5 and a right iliac 4.5 i was taken off the list for any cure 4 yrs a had an ultra sound 6 mths ago and was told m aaa was the same and my iliac was smalleri was sceptical of results now you have lifted my hopes with you results thank you

you sound good iv had an aaa now at 6.5 i was told by cardiac specalist about 4 yrs ago my aaa was 6.5 cm im no 100 % sure about ultra sound tecniacions if they were right mine has stayed at 6.5 for about 4 yrs im happy if it stays that way

@ronludington hi thats about what i thought too after having ultrasounds for about ten yrs and being told when they get too big they would opperate come time toi was told they could not stent as it would have blocked off an artery to my bowles i think and i would not survive surgery so i was told see you later you might have 4 to 5 yrs depends on growth of my big A

Mine was found 6 years ago. Dame advice. I was told to stop bodybuilding. And lifting heavy things. After this period I think the doctors dont think it will grow. Now I can use 5 pound weights and lift light things.

@polocop hi i realy hope for u that it dosent grow i am in th dark with mine growing i am having trouble keeping up with my 2 looking back on hospital records i cant tell how much a year mine moves to many people doing my ultra sounds so keep a positive attitude and keep safe

I have a 4.8 AAA, that has been stable for about 15 years. I am 89 yrs old. They do an echo each year; won't do radiation imaging, unless I need it. I know that I am very lucky to have good health, and still do most everthing. Several cardio docs have told me, "Your AAA won't kill you, something else will get you". Good luck to all.
