Thanks for sharing your story. It sounds like you’ve been through a lot, and I’m glad you’re still here to talk about it. I’m not a doctor, just someone who’s been through an aortic dissection in 2015 and has spent a lot of time learning about these conditions. Chronic back pain after stent placement is unfortunately common, especially if there’s nerve involvement or inflammation around the area.

Managing the pain really depends on what’s causing it—whether it’s related to the stents themselves, muscular compensation from the procedures, or something else. Have you worked with a pain specialist or a vascular doctor to explore options like nerve blocks, physical therapy, or even different medications? Some people find relief through targeted exercises to strengthen surrounding muscles, while others benefit from more interventional approaches.

It’s good that you’re staying on top of your health. Keep advocating for yourself and pushing for solutions that improve your quality of life. Hope you find something that helps ease the pain. Peace.

Very well said Moonboy! Although, I very rarely contribute to the conversations, I am a vigilant sufferer / observer to the subject of TAA and personally want to thank you Moonboy for all of your consistent contributions of thoughtful wise words.
Peace

Hi there, I have a TAA 4.8 and a AAA 3.7 and I had back surgery in '21. My back still hurts but not like before surgery. To relieve my pain I take over the counter pain relievers and I wear a back brave when doing anything like walking as in cleaning house and standing like cooking.
It's not the best but I make it work, I take breaks in between tasks. I also do a chair exercise that really helps.
I am 75 and still clean my home, do laun dry and shop for groceries. I hope this helps some.
