Lingering dry nasal passageways

Posted by amwiz41891 @amwiz41891, Mar 12, 2022

Hello, at about two weeks into Covid and now still at 11 weeks, I’ve had no moisture/mucous in my nose. If I get anything out, it’s stringy white and opaque. I’ve had other post Covid issues that come and go…from lip tingling, Covid tongue, dry mouth, loss of smell and taste, regained but not 100%. Going to a third ENT and a long haul Covid clinic in the coming weeks. Thanks

@bmekdec, it helped me almost right away. I was suffering pretty bad with chest pain, asthma—like and sinus inflammation, never heartburn, and I felt relief within days. I combined it with H2 blockers since PPIs made everything worse. Good luck! It was hard to get at first, especially in the quantity I needed for long-term. I stayed on it for about 6-7 months full-time then on/off for another few months. I have a half case in the closet that still unexpired I wish I could give it to you!

Thanks for your reply. I am getting my first RX today, but it very expensive. Did you buy yours in bulk? I can't take H2 blockers because I have glaucoma. Since I am so sensitive to meds, I am going to start with one dose and build up.

@bmekdeci I I had to go to my pharmacy account to look back at it. Like I said it was hard getting it established. I started it and tried to refill and had to wait and symptoms returned quickly and then I made sure they knew I’d be using it long term and asked them to please get an adequate supply. My insurance did cover it and between my doctor upping the # of ampules/and the pharmacy pushing it to the max for 90 days I was able to get 3,840 for a 90 day copay of $105. That was v. the first fill of 120 for $35. I was using a 5-ml ampule 4x/day. 1 ea 30 min before a meal and 1 before bed. It’s important to take it on an empty stomach., at least 2 hours after eating anything solid (or3), and 30 minutes after liquid, and waiting 20-30 minutes before eating. Kind of a pain for all the timing but, ow well, it did work. The nausea, chest pain, everything was reduced in the first week. ( not the throat phlegm unfortunately, that seems to be something else)
