Is Zytiga 250mg 4daily+1prednisone prostate cancer

Posted by chebo1954 @chebo1954, Jul 21 5:43pm

I’m being treated by oral 4 250mg + 1 5mg prednisone daily all in 1 dose for stage 4 prostate cancer. Although it has achieved a desired PSA it appears by my research that this regimen significantly reduced my life span + I also have 4 lung cancer since 2016 but Optivo put in remission in 2018-there is more but I’d like to start there

Hey my friend can you give me some examples of a low fat breakfast?

This is what I consumed in the am, along with Arbiterone: hot tea, 5 prunes to avoid constipation, banana, 45 calorie toast with peanut butter/ grape jelly. 2 hours later I had either oatmeal/cereal, eggs your choice.

Guess I had that mr spock thing coming but I really do appreciate the info on the food regimen. I see that you gotta low tolerance for stupidity and I was just so exited about the low dose I could take and get the same results.

Although I am not on this dosage, My Doc at the U of C has mentioned this as a possibility as well. Introducing myself to this group. I was diagnosed last fall with stage 4 metastatic PC. after 6 rounds of chemo and taking Abiraterone and Prednisone. My PSA has dropped to 0.75 from 96. Other than the muscle loss, early to bed and general achiness, I think I am faring well so far. Hoping to see my PSA continue to drop. Continue to live every day!! Good Luck to everyone here. It's nice to find a support group.

My name is Robert but I go by Bob, and in retrospect I was thinking about your comment about prunes to avoid constipation- are you taking opiates for pain if you don’t mind me asking?

Glad to hear you’re doing well, I’m 70, soon to be 71 and I sure would like to see 76 whether I’m sick or not. You seem to be very lucid for your age and if I make that far I hope that I don’t loose my marbles as its about the only thing I have left that has not been compromised. Ty for the info.

My dads name was Robert and he went by the name of Bob. All I take for arthritis is Tylenol when needed. Voltaren cream works wonders on my knees for arthritis.

Ps- the swelling in Doug’s ankles is edema, a build up fluids fluids pooling up in his ankle area- a suggestion for this condition is to rest on his back and make sure that his legs are propped up well above his heart- he is suffering from that but I suspect that he is a very brave man that would not complain as to not worry you. He always has his legs up and sees a cardiaologist as well with meds to help with the swelling. And yes, he is such a nice person - always. He never complains about anything! I do everything I can for him especially cooking really good meals. He loves it!

Doug is fortunate indeed to have you and your tender loving care but he is still in pain and at the very least uncomfortable, but it’s your devotion to him is the best medication and therapy for him. I’m so sure that he loves you very much as well he should!

Oh yeah your psa will definitely come down to about .01 if you continue to take that dose. I only pray that you will not experience some of the side effects that this regimen may cause, but everyone reacts differently but I’m sure your psa will improve drastically- so don’t worry there is always hope and all of our collective support is rooting for you. This is a group of fine, caring and GOOD people in this group. Stay well
