Are there any recommendations on who the best Complex Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm Vascular Surgeons in Northern CA at Kaiser Permanente?

@maryrg.......if you're able, look for a second opinion from Cedars-Sanai in LA or even reach out to Cleveland Clinic, which offers a "Virtual Second Opinion" on line also. This may be a time when traveling to get better medical treatment and support may be necessary! It’s important that you're physically ready for the surgery, and mentally/emotionally as well. You can also get a second opinion from Mayo, if you prefer. It's important that you have confidence in your medical team, especially your surgeon and cardiologist!! As you're just over 1 month away from your scheduled surgery, you should act now on getting a second or even third opinion from a respected, high-volume aortic center. I'm hoping someone will post with a doctor that they know.
It's so difficult to manage all of this without support, but your advantage is the clarity with which you understand that you don't have it.
You likely have to stay within Kaiser's system for insurance coverage. It is probably worth traveling to find a doctor you have confidence in.

The following is from Robert Chang's studies: Although we cannot confirm the reasons for disparities in AAA repair in men and women, it may be related to women having an anatomy unsuitable for endovascular repair. These patients did not, however, have higher rates of comorbid conditions compared with those with timely repair. Most of these patients were delayed because of a discrepancy in size between the radiologist and the vascular surgeon. Unfortunately, the scope of this project did not allow deeper analysis of these size discrepancies. Better understanding and addressing reasons for delayed repair represents an important area for improvement, as our data demonstrate that delaying elective repair in patients with aneurysms $5.0 cm in women and $5.5 cm in men seems to have deleterious consequences.

i am not yet in need of repair but I have investigated surgeons. My research from consulting various doctors is that if you're in the NY area the surgeon you want to see is Dr. Takayama at Columbia Presbyterian.
