Is there a time limit on the aortic aneurysm surgery as to the success

A friend has told me with his hear surgery repair that he was told it would last at least for 10 years. I am wondering if this is true of all aorta repair surgeries??

I also had an ascending aortic aneurysm repair 4 years ago, I asked my cardiologist today about risks with the graft, based on some questions I got in this forum, he told me the graft will survive me, there’s nothing that would tell me there’s an expiration on the repair, he did tell me there are some risks the area of the aorta next to the graft could swell or dissect, but those are uncommon and as long as you are monitoring your BP, continuing your periodical checkups and continue being active, the risk is small

Thank you so very much for you comments. I feel better already! I do the BP check everyday and also am as active as possible in this dreaded Winter we are having up here in Wi. Am hopping o hang in there for another 10 years or so as long as Mother Earth lets us continue.

I went to see my cardiovascular surgeon because of a mechanical aortic valve that had a torn aneurysm in my belly.
He told me that it could burst but “I’ve been monitoring your aneurysm for 6 years and it was 1.6 then and it is still 1,6 so stop worrying about it. It’s an asked him about the aneurysm and I said that he didn’t see it.

A recent unrelated ER visit CT scan showed an aneurysm and they had me transferred to a trauma hospital for emergency surgery.
The aneurysm was acknowledged by the second surgeon and said “well, it isn’t bleeding right now so the team feels that you could be discharged today since there is no bleeding but make sure you see your cardiovascular surgeon. Nothing happened. It wasn’t until this year (7 years) that he told me how small it was and not bleeding so don’t worry about it.
