Aortic Aneurysm and a ascending aorta the same?

An aortic aneurysm can happen as the name indicates anywhere along the aorta, the aorta “ascends” as it leaves the heart, bends and then “descends “, if the aneurysm is on the short “ascending side” then its called ascending. You also mentioned “valve” on the title but I assume that was a typo

The doctor stated the Ascending aorta is mildly dated. . They explained it as the valves are not closing completely. I’m so confused and scared.

This is very scary and I felt just as you do when I was first diagnosed, but I've found that you can't live in terror every minute of your life. Eventually your mind will relax and you'll adjust to your new normal. As Moonboy reminds us, knowing about the condition is crucial and you do.
