Iron Depletion in Blood related to COVID?

Get her to a Hematologist. They will be the best to treat the low iron. I have had two infusions of iron so far. Had the second one 1 week ago. Feeling fairly good right now. Have to do another blood test the end of April and hopefully the iron level will be close to normal. I saw where one person on here said they were scheduled to have 5 infusions. My infusion is called Infed.

This is very interesting as I am also dealing with iron-deficiency anemia after my Moderna vaccines. In March 2021, I received my second Moderna vaccine. (In August '20, my CBC was normal for all parameters). Few months after my second vaccine I began feeling winded on minor exertion. Blood test indicated low HGB and iron (and very low ferritin). All other lab tests were normal. Upper and lower endoscopy showed no problems. Now seeing hematologist and receiving iron infusions. Waiting to see if iron levels will remain steady or drop back to low levels.

I had both covid injections in January and February 2021. In May 2021 I was diagnosed with low hemoglobin count and told to take prenatal vitamins . I took these vitamins through October 2021. At the time. my numbers were so low that I was immediately given iron infusions for six weeks. After these infusions, I was tested 4 weeks later and the numbers were again low. I had another 6 infusions. During the interim, I had endoscopy and colonoscopy and the pill camera for lower intestine. I had a liver sonagram and countless blood tests. The hemotologist stated that My tests did not look like leukemia. Now after all the infusions, I am told that they will give me a stronger iron infusion for the next two weeks.
I am stumped and just wondered if there was a correlation because I never had a problem with my blood. I took the booster in September and am worried about taking the second booster when it is approved. I am a fairly healthy 76 year old with moderate high blood pressure and diabetes which is well controlled with A1C below 6. Thank you for any answers you can provide.

He saw his physician and she suspected some type of internal bleeding based on the blood test, He had an upper and lower endoscopy. No internal bleeding was found. They are going to try the camera endoscopy next week. We don't think this is going to reveal anything. His iron, ferritin and red blood cell count is extremely low. The only change in has been receiving the vaccine.

After reading all of your reports and comments here, I decided to look at VAERS (Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System https://wonder.cdc.gov/controller/datarequest/D8) and search for low hemoglobin or low ferritin reports. There were 420,000 adverse events reported out of 330,000,000 Covid vaccine doses administered. Of those 778 reported low hemoglobin or ferritin, 324 of those from the Pfizer vaccine. We cannot tell from this simple search exactly when, in relation to injection, these events were reported. Now is there a cause/effect proven by reporting. To make a comparison, I also looked at reduced ferritin/hemoglobin in VAERS for the Shingrix and Quadravalent flu vaccines (with far fewer doses delivered than Covid) and found 23 for each, out of 30-40 thousand VAERS reports.

I understand that this is undoubtedly underreported, especially since the discovery is coming some time after the vaccine. So, I would say that there appears to be some indication that some people may experience lower hemoglobin at a point after vaccination. In addition, it is known that some people show lower hemoglobin after having the Covid virus (even after a mild case sometimes.)

Perhaps, at some point we will come to a better understanding of all the interactions between Covid infections, the vaccine, and our bodies.

Has anyone experienced either
1) dangerously low hemoglobin of ferritin after vaccination, or
2) numbers that are not recovering?
