Thanks for all the feedback, I asked my family doctor what I can do to help with this hair loss problem. He warned me about the products on the market and told me that some of them are beta blockers and you need to be monitored taking them. I don’t want to use anything that affects my heart, I have used Toppix and it was helpful when I had coloured hair but now my hair is mostly gray and they don’t have a colour for gray lol

Beta blockers can cause hair loss.

She wants to examine me again. I found a hair loss photo online that looks exactly like mine did recently. It’s crazy how much it resembles my hair. And, it was a post covid patient and hair loss she had from that. Still, I’m no expert. I fear they really won’t know the cause for me. The only real treatment is the minoxidil. Unless it’ll grow back on its own. Except for platelet rich injections and pulse therapy, but to grow hair, that’s the only option. I can do local or oral. Pills make more sense. I hope I can take them. Oh, I have to get a hair topper to wear in public.

Thanks to you all for the kind words.

I thought about that, but my dermatologist said it doesn’t really prevent loss or help hair grow back. I think they promote the product saying it helps with vitamins and nutrition. So, if you are suffering with poor nutrition, this supplement could aid in treating it. I’m just speculating. I haven’t tried it. Perhaps, if someone has, they’ll chime in.

According to my doctor, the only known med to regrow hair is Minoxidil. I finally started taking a tiny daily dose recently. The jury is still out. My hair had already stopped shedding. And, I am already tight and right with daily nutrients and vitamins. I’ve increased my calories, so…..hopefully, my hair will thicken over the next year.

What is GLA in black current oil, I’m very interested in products that reduce or end hair loss but none of the products that fall into a beta blocker. A popular one is sold every where but I can’t remember the name, it’s topical and only works while using it, however it’s a beta blocker and my heart is not working properly so it’s not an option, thanks 😊

Go to the Mayo Dermatology Department. I'm on two Rx's and it's helped immensely.

I took Eliquis for three years. Yes, my hair is gone on the sides. This is not a listed side effect but plenty of people have it. I had surgery so I do not have to take blood thinners. Now I am trying to get my body back to normal. I plan to take GLA in the form of black currant oil. Years before AFib, I took it for something else and my hair grew like crazy. But you cannot take it with blood thinners. Eliquis is a horrible drug.

Massage your scalp to get the blood flow going and help dry scalp. You can use a comb even.

I saw my dermatologist today and after examining my scalp, she says the hair is coming back! Whew! So relieved. Mine is telogen effluvium from significant weight loss in a short time. I had noticed the hair shedding had reduced. It’ll take about a year for significant return. I’ve been on a tiny dose of Minoxidil for one month.
