Inconsiderate, intimidating neighbors cause depression and anxiety?
Lets; say you have neighbors that sit outside your apartment building, smoke "weed" in public view (which is illegal) and use intimidating gestures towards you as you come and go. Could this be enough to cause legitimate depression and anxiety?

Did you post this in the wrong place? It doesn't seem relevant or helpful unless I'm missing something.
It would probably be a good idea to document every time you have an uncomfortable interaction with these people, either in a journal or on a calendar. It might come in handy if there is ever any legal action taken against them and you need to provide evidence. Calling the police every time you see something seems like overkill and would probably escalate things to a really unpleasant place IMO.
@scarletb an excellent suggestion!
Yes. I was wondering if maybe I was "too sensitive". I have a high tolerance for things so I wanted to, by posting the question to this forum, if I was overblowing it. Thanks to this forum and things that have happened here since (I was given the intimidating/threatening body language again yesterday) I would not only say "not at all", I would also say that something needs to be asap. As I noted in a previous post effective things are in the works.
On an interesting note, this subject I have found has been studied in a practical scientific manner. It's obvious that drug dealers use fear to control the neighborhood but what's not so well known is that there are apparently proven sophisticated methods to disrupt the dealer's business and return the neighborhood to a safe place. Calling the police is an obvious and good practice but there are other things that can be done that are quite novel and have proven effective in conjunction with other methods.
It's from the bible which you must admit at least has some wisdom in it.
Sorry, this was meant for the person who posted what I now see is some sort of bible thing. edit: To be clear, I wasn't asking YOU if you posted in the wrong place.
No. It was the right place to post. I learned from this forum, as you can see from my earlier post, that bad neighbors can certainly negatively affect mental health. In the case of drug users and dealers, related nuisances and threats of violence literally at your doorstep, the place where you live, it can certainly cause anxiety and depression as well as other negative emotions.
Hi Patrick,
Well said! Basically, God is greater than Satan who is currently in the world attacking decent people. You obviously saw that in Robert's bad situation. However, God will prevail! He always does.

Update: This morning I was walking back to my apartment. There was no one around. Then I heard some talking and about 50 ft. away down the street were two of the regular guys smoking "weed". The one guy sees me and then gives me the threatening body language as if telling me "Don't you dare report this, or else!" I got back to the apartment and the first thing I did was document the incident. I will update again by Christmas when I expect this to all be over.
Update: Apparently other residents have complained of the nuisance. The landlord contacted the trouble-causing tenants and the last 3 days have been trouble-free. I have seen them around the property but they just unsmiling and going about their business. Will this last? I hope so. My mental state has improved for sure.
