I struggle with wanting to die everyday - severe depression
I have severe depression and I am trying so hard to get better but my hope is dwindling fast. I am 73 and moved to Jacksonville, FL to be closer to my kids. They have their own issues and can not or will not help me. I started with counselor and psychiatrist and tried 10 different medications. My few friends have left me. I have hired someone to help me as I just started ECT. I also have been in an IOP group. I am trying everything I can but I don't think I will make it. I am now have other medical issues. Everyday is such a struggle. I do not want to hurt my children by ending my life but I feel I can't go on.

Stay here for your kids. They need you. I’ve had many different meds and keep adding others that help. You are important! Stay busy with the human race by finding new groups to talk about your life and listening to their lives. It works to stay as busy as you can. We need you to stay alive and show others that they can do it!

3 ReactionsPlease don’t take your life! Dead is dead, there’s no coming back, you don’t ever wake up again. My brother took his life at age 68, we had no idea he was depressed, he suffered and in silence. We are all devastated over that loss, 16 years ago. Not one day goes by that I don’t wish he was here with me, his daughter feels the same way. Keep reaching out to mental health people. Try CTB cognitive behavioral therapy . That helps. You have to do the work, it’s not hard. There’s more out there keep looking.

3 ReactionsHave you sought treatment at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville? Just a thought!
@kndaustin71 I tried to get into mayo and they wouldn’t give me an appt
@ucfsig perhaps if you try getting one of your physicians to request a referral you may get in that way.
This is what they said. Not sure what it means.
Unfortunately, our Psychiatry/Psychology Department in Mayo Clinic Florida does not except external referrals/request.
Please stay alive. Miracles happen. Your children will be devastated and will never recover. There's also ketamine therapy you can try. And if you can get your hands on some psilocybin that's showing a lot of promise.
I went thru same. Was put on Seroquel, 25 mg 3/day and 200 at bedtime. Thoughts are gone. Anxiety is gone. When I get stressed, I know I need to try to nap. If I fall asleep, usually works. Just rest, symptoms lessen, but I know I must sleep.
I am also tired of living I am 62 years old and tired of living I am married but very lonely I am sick of waking up every day and struggling to make it thru the day my brain works on me at nite telling me what my mother used to say to me growing up why don’t do u die nobody wants you here nobody loves. You kill yourself if we had abortions in them days we would have got rid or you you must of got mixed up in the hospital is all she used to say I tried hanging myself when I was. 9 it didn’t work several other attempts as the years when on I am not suicidal now but I do pray every nite I don’t wake up ,it’s hard when your brain tells you your worthless and to die . I do believe I am worthless among a lot more I hate myself but I push thru every day

10 ReactionsIt sounds like you are depressed, & could use some help. You should seek professional help to deal with these feelings. Antidepressants helped me, when I felt like I didn’t want to wake up, after losing my Dad. I too, was not suicidal, but clinically depressed. Best of luck to you. There is help.
