I struggle with wanting to die everyday - severe depression
I have severe depression and I am trying so hard to get better but my hope is dwindling fast. I am 73 and moved to Jacksonville, FL to be closer to my kids. They have their own issues and can not or will not help me. I started with counselor and psychiatrist and tried 10 different medications. My few friends have left me. I have hired someone to help me as I just started ECT. I also have been in an IOP group. I am trying everything I can but I don't think I will make it. I am now have other medical issues. Everyday is such a struggle. I do not want to hurt my children by ending my life but I feel I can't go on.

This is absolutely true, even in her darkest moments she felt the urge to answer the phone, there was still hope in her heart that she would hear the voice on the other end telling her something that she needed to hear, I would call this divine intervention.
Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem, please don’t give up on yourself, you clearly love your children and you would be leaving them a lifetime of pain. I will pray for you and hope that you can find your inner strength to overcome this problem in your life, always remember that where there is life, there is always hope, amen.

3 ReactionsI feel the same way when I go to sleep every night I hope that I don’t wake up. It sucks but the depression anxiety and mild cognitive impairment are too much to handle. I haven’t attempted suicide these last several months because I can’t seem to find the right amount of the right drug to keep me from waking up.
@saskatchewanlady
...Perhaps that is a sign that you shouldn't do it.

2 ReactionsAbout 15 years ago I was suicidal and checked myself into a local hospital in Seattle. I did this twice within 2 years. I had stopped my med cold turkey thinking a natural remedy would work. Each time was about 7 days. Each time I felt so much better because there were others like me there and the help was so supportive. Since then I have moved to AZ for the sunshine and met my partner. Like anyone else I have my anxiety episodes, am on medication, but I have more good days than bad. I hope you find support like I did. Being in nature makes a lot of difference.

5 ReactionsRecently I came upon a YouTube video on emotions. Did you know that we experience feelings in waves? 90 second waves. If you can make it through those 90 seconds you can do anything.

3 Reactions@david707 I am so happy for you. I take 4 different medications for depression and anxiety and everyday at least once I want to kill myself. Is it better to stop medication? Sometimes I wonder if a break would help in some way? Thanks
Please don’t!

2 Reactions@meld2023 That doesn't sound good. I am not a doctor or nurse or a licensed counselor. All I have is experience. It is not unusual to get thoughts of suicide as an easy way out when life is a struggle. But this should not be all the time. I just saw my primary care physician about my need for counseling because I need a major change in my life. If you are not feeling well most of the time, you need to see your doctor or else see a new doctor. Are you under a lot of stress? Do you have family or friend support? Do you feel like crying a lot? Do you feel at all? Sometimes we can be on too much medication which masks our feelings. That is not good either. Being numb may be comfortable but life becomes dull. Please find a doctor who listens to you and get a referral for a good counselor. Hang in there. You deserve to feel good and life should be interesting. Please don't give up.

Hang in there!! It is very difficult when every day is a struggle. Keep pushing forward. One day something will shift in your well being. We all have felt what you’re feeling and agreed it is not fun. Try to push yourself to go for a walk outside even though you are not “feeling it” You deserve to feel better and you will.
