I would hope so, because I think almost everyone would be in the same space after a heart attack. So, for you, for me, for about a zillion others, yes, a panic attack or strong anxiety would be quite understandable.

The word normal needs some thought. If I break out into a sweat when stressed, is that 'normal'? Well, for me, almost certainly. If you don't, but you get the jitters and have to pee urgently, is that normal? For you, yupper!

Anything anyone experiences when faced with a severe stressor is going to be perfectly 'normal' in the range of the many reactions people report when they have stress.

But, don't confuse the anxiety with what is going on with your heart. The heart's BP might be 'normal' for the type of heart attack you've had, at least for a few days maybe. But the way you 'feel about it' is simply emotion, unease, maybe some strong worry, or not feeling that you understand everything you have been told has happened....it's worry. They can help your heart a lot, but you'll need to learn more, to feel more relaxed, and to calm yourself so that you 'feel better' about it all.

Good luck!

When I had my first panic attack, i didn’t know what was going on…
I was brought to emergency with a first diagnosis of heart attack, my whole body acted with these symptoms.
After that I had them continuously, sometimes longer as well, in waves up and down.
I had a great therapist and learned how to handle them until they disappeared, there is great hope to overcome panic attacks.

I am currently in Tennessee visiting our kids.
Next week I am home again in North Pole, AK and I have a lot of material/ informations there, I would love to share.
But first thing to do is now, make an appointment with your doctor and be sure that everything with your heart is ok.
We can go from there.
