I am 28 year old guy who has battling illness for sometime symptoms include;
Health issues 2024

2. Malaise
3. Headache that comes with weakness
4. Anxiety
5. Heart palpitations
6. Body pains like pins all over body
7. Insomnia
8. Hoarseness in throat
9. Internal vibrations
10. Panic attacks
11. Loss of appetite
12. Stomach noise
13. Cold
14. Weakness
15. Ear blocked
16. Feel like something in my throat
17. Starts with heavy eyes then in few minutes you feel weak
18. Ringing in my ear
19. Shaking
20. Dizziness when I stand up
21. Heavy eyes which causes headache and weakness
I had a ct scan and it said There is mild thickening of the mucosal lining of both maxillary sinuses and opacification of a
left ethmoidal air cell. what does it mean? And also is there any more test I should run?

Your doctor can interpret tests. I had similar results and they were not significant, for me. But it could signal some mild sinus issue according to this:

Ask your PCP or ENT and hope it is good news, though I know we always hope for an answer when we have testing.

You may benefit from seeing an ear, nose, throat specialist (ENT) based on your symptoms and ct scan results. You may also want to see a gastroenterologist for your heartburn and stomach issues.

If you are really congested, you may not be sleeping well any may want to check with a pulmonologist to get a sleep study to check for sleep apnea. It may contribute to your fatigue/malaise/weakness.

Have you had extensive bloodwork to see if you have anything abnormal in the results? Have you had your thyroid checked?

You’ve described many symptoms of Pernicious Anemia, a B12 deficiency. I’d seek testing of B12, Folate, Iron, and intrinsic factor antibodies to verify or eliminate this possibility. Best wishes for your recovery!

Yes, I second the recommend to see and ENT. Mild mucosal thickening is typically not something to worry about and could be from allergies/inflammation/sinus problem

Can I ask what Dr ordered the test?

An ENT could also address possible allergies, tinnitus and some of the other symptoms you described

The weakness you describe should be addressed as well

Good luck! We all have so many symptoms it’s so hard to know where to turn!

ENT's really have nothing to offer for tinnitus other than counseling. Some audiologists are better for "ringing in the ears." I went to the very respected Mass. Eye and Ear to see a neurotologist and they didn't offer anything helpful either. Research is ongoing.

Some people respond to white noise (pink, brown noise) and you can try that with your phone overnight. It gave me vertigo.

Yeah that’s not entirely true. It depends on the cause. And yes Ive been to a top neurotologist as well. I’m also an SLP with an audiology background.
It depends on where you go and your individual situation. I was just making a suggestion.

@gerberdaisy for pulsatile tinnitus, surgery can help (my daughter had metal coils put in her brain for a fistula) but I have been all over the place for help with tinnitus. Neuro. Otoneuro, ENT.

There are retraining programs that help some but those seem to be through audiology. CBT and psychiatry are suggested. Some try hearing aids, white noise. I can't do any of those but others can benefit.

With your background, I hope you will share what you think is possible in terms of help. I never intend to argue with anyone on here: I just wanted to save someone else from the hope I had when I went to all those professionals and how disappointing it was.

Hey I’m sorry, I reread how I wrote that and it was snippy. I should never write first thing in the morning. Apologies.
And agreed wholeheartedly about being let down by all the “professionals”!
I’m going to get a stellate ganglion block next month. I hear it can even help brain fog? I’ll write about that later.

I’d also like to talk about the vertigo with you- have you found anything that helps? I had it before as well but just like with everything, much worse since I got Covid

In response to your Vertigo. I just completed 8 miserable months of vertigo, dizzy episodes (sometimes 3-4 times a day), unsteady gait. Went to Neuro - wanted to start with an anti-depressant....(depressed because of dizziness, NOT dizzy 'cause I'm depressed. Went to well trained ENT, he started with Diagnosis of Meniere's (sp?), when that is a diagnosis of exclusion. Wanted to inject steroids in my ear. I declined. Drilled down on the issue myself. It started in November2023 so looked at what changed at that time. Long story short, I was placed on Eliquis instead of the warfarin I had been on for years. Did some research which actually addressed the relationship between the two drugs. Asked to be taken off Eliquis and placed back on warfarin on 8/8/2023. Haven't been dizzy since. Moral of story-- don't discount the physician/pharmacist (and your research) looking at your medication regime! Wasted 8 months of my life!
