Unless your BMI and waist-to-hip ratios -- under 25 and 0.8 respectively -- take this as a warning to be more mindful of the unhealthy lifestyle that precedes this condition, i.e. unbalanced food (look up any top university's health division, like Harvard's) exercises that make bones and muscles strong.
It may also be a warning about your mental health -- from unhealthy or insufficient social connections and lifestyle that puts unnecessary pressure on savings/income as we go thr' various phases of life. Be sensible with time use especially for Our mental health.
Good luck!
Take your medications, do not salt your food, exercise (walk in place, cleaning the house, etc.), reduce processed foods, restrict sweets and pastries, loose a little weight if you need to and give yourself some grace. Be happy with the small changes and remember, it is a marathon to better health, not a sprint.
I resisted meds for years - don’t know why, This “I don’t want meds” is like it’s a personal affront to me somehow. What got me on meds is during an eye exam the opthamologist could tell I had high blood pressure from looking into the back of my eye. That scared me. I’m on meds now for probably eight years. My blood pressure is great. It’s genetic. I’ve had it for years, even while a runner and vegan. I’m 73. I so wish my lifestyle took care of some medical issues, but it didn’t for me.
@bajjerfan Yes they take meds and their pressure been steady
