How to reduce my blood pressure from 160/82?

I am male 83 yrs of age. My doctor prescribed " amlodpine betsolate tablets 2.5 mg.
I have been having shortness of breath, when Ihave a quick walk. Recently I started using "Albuterol Ulfate inhalation aerosol 90 mcg.
My question, I would like request a stress test from my Doctor. How helpful is a stress test?.
By using the prescription, I have noticed on arms and hands when I get a hard bump, I recieve a reddish spots, some are 3 inches, to little dots. Would the prescription medicine have any thing to do with this.
