How long does it take for Tymlos side effects to subside?

I’ve been in Tymlos for two months now and have bone pain, dizziness and just overall aches and pains. Does this get better?

I started taking my shots in the early afternoon, and then decided to move my schedule, and take them at night. It worked for me, although I must say side effects have been pretty random for me. I haven’t been able to identify anything that makes them worse or improves them, except trying not to be on an empty stomach for long periods of time. That eases the nausea a little bit. It is pretty much like morning sickness.

My problem is more the headaches and nausea in the morning

Maybe you should stay at a lower dose for a few more days to see if your body gets used to the medication. Of course, you should discuss it with your doctor before making any decision.
I reached six clicks, but haven’t been able to try and do seven, because although the side effects have improved significantly (after staying at 6 for a couple of weeks now), they are still there, and I am afraid they will get worse when I get to seven clicks.
My appointment with the endocrinologist it’s next week, so I plan to discuss all this with her.

@cloud60 I had headaches and nausea in the morning when I took it at night too.

Here is an example of side effect variability: Yesterday I did 7 clicks and was very unwell. Today I did 8 and side effects are minimal.

My exhaustion and lightheaded and nausea wasn’t as bad with more salt and water last night. I used half an electrolight drink
Last night and made scrambled egg with salt and had some trisquits and salted nuts before injection and drank water before and after injection . Headache definitely was first two hours and then subsided. I was planning on skipping tonight but bc my symptoms got better with the food and drink I might even go to 5 clicks tonight .
Thank you for your suggestions

Medicines and benefits not to. I am trying to prevent fractures

I'm supposed to be doing reclast infusions. Ever hear about those side effects? Great work. Let me know if your side effects improve.

@mariejean03 it depends on bone density scores and fracture history. I am going to try Reclast after Tymlos to "lock in" my gains. My docs will do a test dose of 10% (1 mg not 5) and then I can do a half dose of 2.5mg if I tolerate it.

The thing is, once you do a bisphosphonate like Tymlos, the stronger bone building drugs are not as effective, at least to some extent. If your DEXA scores are not good, try to get on Tymlos, Forteo or Evenity before Reclast. If your DEXA scores are not too bad, you could consult with Keith McCormick who has a lot of info on holistic approaches. With input from your doc as well.
