21 days post-surgery. No blood in urine for last six days. Still a little pain at beginning of urination, which I hope will resolve soon. Peeing about every two hours (same at night). Now walking 1.5 miles 2x/day. Going to start doing kegels. Welcome comments. Posting my experience for the benefit of anyone who may be considering this surgery.
@alexdav Sounds like you are doing great! I am 19 days since surgery. Currently no blood and little to no leakage. Stream is strong. Have started walking 1/2 mile; it sounds like I should be more aggressive. Prior to surgery I walked 3 to 4 miles a day and did strength training 3 times/week. My Dr said to hold off on strength training until week 4.
I still have moderate pain at the beginning of urination. And I am peeing every two to three hours at night (and during the day), despite stopping fluid intake around 8PM. I'm drinking 100oz of water per day. This suggests to me that I still have inflammation. My home uti test was negative and I don't have fever. Overall, I will feel much better about things once these issues resolve. Having said that, feeling pretty optimistic that i am going to have a great outcome.
@jackflash I hit 4 weeks in 2 days, can't say anything negative at this point...no blood at all in urine...I start stream in 1-2 seconds vs minute or more prior and empty completely...have little pain only if I dont empty and wait till I am really full but resumed sex(all good had retrograde first time, 2nd time had small discharge) and no pain/blood so feels same to me minus the retrograde which frankly my partner loves LOL...still not lifting but walking 5 miles and thats only time I get a few drops leaking in 1st mile..otherwise dry all day and night so expect that will resolve itself in time...have to keep reminding myself its only 4 weeks and they removed 70% so gonna take time but would say 90% there and hate to hear about others having issues but for me personally haven't encountered anything bad at all knock wood...
28 days post-surgery. Good stream, empty fully, no blood. Still a little pain when I begin urination. Still urinating frequently, and every 2 to 3 hours at night. Now walking several miles/day and have mowed the lawn (push mower) 2x. Did some pullups today; about half the sets/reps I normally do but was a huge win psychologically.
So, the last milestones are the moderate pain at beginning of urination and the frequency.
35 days post-surgery. Strong stream. No blood. Very little incontinence. Walking 3 to 4 miles/day and strength training now at 80%. Pain at beginning of urination has been reduced to discomfort. Frequency is 1.5 to 3 hours during the day and every 2 to 4 hours at night; a little better but this is now my main area of focus.
I'm feeling pretty good about progress but am not going to spike the ball at the two yard line.
42 days/six weeks, post-surgery. Strong stream. No blood. Very little incontinence. Walking 3 to 4 miles/day and strength training now at 85%. Mild discomfort at beginning of urination. Frequency is 2 to 3 hours during the day and every 2.5 to 4.5 hours at night. During the day, I now resist urge to go until at least 2.5 hours pass because I know my bladder has proven the capacity regardless of urge.
2 months post-holep. doing kegels 3 times a day. after "emptying" my bladder, I still have to stand at toilet and do 10+ kegals to empty fully? Where is this extra urine hiding?

So small but detectable progress.
