HCOM midcavity with apical aneurysm

Posted by TerryViazanko @terryviazanko, Jun 23, 2017

I'm looking to discuss with others midcavity obstruction with apical aneurysm. Anybody out there?

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Support Group.

Hi @terryviazanko,

I’m tagging fellow Connect members @eelnaloblob18 @cynaburst @mistymopps3 @lynnkay1956 @PatMattos @Sensation @ronaldpetrovich @23273333 to bring them into this discussion about apical HCM.

Hey Terry - As you know, this is really rare. Maybe there is someone else out there who has experienced both and apical aneurysm and obstructive HCM. Terry is particularly interested in speaking with someone who has had a myectomy who also has an apical aneurysm.

I have mid-cavity obstruction, apical HCM and an aneurysm and would be glad to share experiences with you.

I had a VT storm in early Feb. Then, I had an oblation done at Mayo in July. Things have been better, but also a lot worse! I have fevers which they think is due to the heart rubbing against the sac around the heart causing irritation. This is keeping on a cycle of sorts. Or, maybe I am overdoing? At any rate, if there is something I can help someone with, I would be glad to do so.

Hi @wyoguy,

Thank you so much for offering to share your experiences. This is exactly what Mayo Clinic Connect is all about: meeting others with similar experiences, sharing your journey, and learning from and supporting each other.

@wyoguy, how are you managing your condition, presently?
