Anyone else been dealing w/post-concussion headache?
Does anyone have any experience with a chronic post concussion daily tension headache? Suffered my 3 or 4 concussion in 2023 and have had a daily 4-5 headache every day since. Hoping for some relatable experiences with some successful results.

Well, my situation is not a great one. Concussion in 2019 and I have been paying for it ever since.
Migraines started (never had before) and just won't let go. I actually have an appointment this week with my neurologist to discuss "what else?" can be done for me. I have heart disease so I can not take the first line of defense in medication which are the "triptans". I have to take the CGRPs and they are not doing the trick for me.
The head pain is truly awful. Pounding on one side or all other pressure that feels like my head is going to explode. Electric shocks in my head. Sensitive to light. Nausea. The whole gamut unfortunately.
Ice caps are my best friends during an attack. Do you have a neurologist who is also a headache specialist?
Not all neurologists are headache specialists. I would suggest get yourself to a really reputable headache center. They do exist in the best medical facilities in the country. Check out US News & World Report for ratings on the best neurology centers and try to make an appointment there. Yes, it can be difficult to get there...but usually doable.
I wish you the very best and wish I had better news for you.
(Just realized your post is from June 2025...read it quickly and thought 2026, how about an update?)

1 Reaction@campbellmiller this actually makes me angry …. A concussion is a physical injury that causes head discomfort and light sensitivity. Having “ anger issues “ can be a result this but so is most chronic pain
@jennifer1966 so sorry Jennifer .. I’m 2 years out and the pressure in my head and weight of my head is overwhelming. I hope you can enjoy life and do your best to find comfort
Have you considered laser therapy? Many chiropractors have a laser that brings down inflammation.
I’m going on 11 years with nonstop migraine from post concussive syndrome. Saw a neurologist for years, tried every treatment available to me and every medication. Nothing worked.

3 ReactionsHi @maxmichael I experienced daily headaches after my concussion for years and am now 100% headache free. Back then, I read Dr. John Sarno's books on a recommendation from a friend, and when I learned how to stop repressing anger, my headaches completely disappeared. That may sound crazy - it did to me back then, but the transformation took very little time and was undeniable! I no longer have any headaches and now I help others find their way out through a modality called Pain Reprocessing Therapy in case you're curious to look it up!
