Has Anyone Tried the New drug Ibsrela for IBS-C ?

Posted by phxbarb @phxbarb, Dec 19, 2025

I saw that it was approved for adults with IBS - Constipation. I am always looking for new and improved drugs for this condition that I have had all my life. Painful hard rock -like stool with cramps and long-term occurence. So tired of it. Today the usual cocktail of laxatives did not work for me. So miserable and hoping for relief.

I am using Bluebonnet sun fiber, which I believe is guar gum fiber. After years of nothing working, this is the first helpful thing I found. I could not tolerate meds or MiraLAX.

How much Sun Fiber do you take and how often? I tried the recommended dosage once and it caused diarrhea.

I have IBSC and have tried everything under the sun. I also have a torturous: and have had mesenteric artery ligament syndrome, which greatly disturbs the digestive system and the nerves. My doctor at Mayo prescribed. The medication called Motegrity. It’s pretty expensive so my husband and I go to Mexico and it cost about $45 a month which is better than $480 at first. I took two MG’s and that was too strong so I cut it in half after two years of being on it, I’m down to less than half a pill of one MG. It’s the only thing that has worked for me. I’m 70 years old. If I get backed up, I just doubled the amount. I’ve been taking. hope this helps.

@vcfoley11 I take a scoop using the one that comes in the package daily. I have not had loose stools with it but our bodies are all so different.
