Does anyone have vaginal neuropathy and what treatment are you using

I have Pelvic Floor Disorder- sometimes called Pelvic Floor Dysfunction.
I use estrogen cream and I had pelvic floor physical therapy.
Very helpful. I have to do the pelvic floor exercises at home and keep up with the estrogen or my symptoms return.

What age group do you fall into? I'm asking because, my experience is that doctors don't want to hear about vaginal pain and discomfort with women over 65(ish). They use terms like, "It's something you need to learn to live with," "It comes with age," "The skin is thinning . . . ."

@vivianburns I am 55 and have been told similar things... "part of getting older", "something you need to learn to live with". 4 gyns later I found one who listened. I have pelvic floor dysfunction and also use estrogen cream. Because I spent so much time sitting improperly due to vaginal discomfort I now have hip problems and I am getting ready to start PT for that. I urge women to keep pushing the doctors for answers. Women's healthcare needs drastic improvement especially training in care for women over 50 and the menopause years.

I am 71. I am fortunate to have a uro-gynecologist who is female and ONLY treats post-menopausal women.

Interesting that a doctor would say things like “get used to it” or “it comes with age “. They don’t say that when it’s a heart condition or something neurological. I guess they think women’s reproductive organs have out lived their usefulness, so why treat them. We are still living with them even after their primary function is over.

I've never heard of a uro-gynecologist. I'll look for one in my area. Thank you for the new approach to my female issue.

@bettersleep68 Can you please explain more? Are you referring to vaginal pain?

This is ridicules! I am 80 years old, and my Mayo doctors take me serious. I used estrogen cream every 3 days, and had two sessions of pelvic floor phys. therapy. Between the cream and the therapy, I can live a mostly free of pain normal life.
I am a doctor myself, and if a doctor would say this to me, I would chew them out like crazy!
Nobody has to live with pain and discomfort if it can be prevented easily!

I overcame that problem by joining treatments of BHRT or Bio Hormone Replacement Therapy. I went with the Biote line. Already 9 years and I don’t know where would I be if it wasn’t for this. It is compound medicine and not all doctors
support it. Am 70 yrs old going on 60 …

Completely agree with you. Medicine has changed a lot ( for the worse) and the new generation of physicians are not as engaged as the older docs were. Plus the system is not helping and doctors are discouraged to practice good medicine …
