Has anyone had an exacerbation while on Brinsupri?
I have been taking Brinsupri since November. It so reduced the amount of phlegm that I stopped airway clearance. After a few months, I became short of breath with rapid heart beat. I thought it was a heart problem because I did not cough. It took many weeks to discover that I had a lung infection and tested positive for enterobacter cloacae complex, a resistant bacteria that did not respond to Augmentin but appears to have responded to Levaquin. I have been very sick, hospitalized twice after not being in the hospital for 20 years. I think the lesson I learned is that you have to do airway clearance when on Brinsupri even if you have less to cough up. I am recovering but still coughing up old blood from the infection. I would be interested to hear how others are doing on Brinsupri. Wishing everyone well.

Doxycycline is sometimes used to treat Pseudomonas but not usually.
@irenea8 Yes, it was a shot in the dark before sputum samples and to protect against antibiotic resistance. Urgent care prescribed Azithromycin but he said no. Not until we knew what we were dealing with.
