Has anyone had a spell of severe dizziness that resulted in fainting?
On Monday night, I had a severe spell of dizziness that resulted in losing consciousness. I fell injuring many parts of my body.
For the next few days, I was still so dizzy I couldn't walk without my husband's help. Today I am able to walk alone but am still dizzy mostly on the left side of my head.
Has anyone had this scary thing happen?

Did you get checked for vertigo
Im not sure if you've already seen a cardiologist but that's where you should go. Sounds like POTS, they can test you and treat you. usually adding sodium to you diet and lots of water. But for sure go see a cardiologist.
Good luck xx

I just got a good report from my cardiologist but my NP recommended much stronger electrolytes so your comment about more sodium is a help. I am also stopping my new eye drops for a while. These are powerful meds and can be absorbed through your eye into your body.
Yes, diagnosed with POTS
Use a blood pressure cuff at home and take pressure on each arm after you’ve been lying still for 15 minutes.
Then stand up and retest. If there is a 30 point change you need to report to your doc.
Dizziness can be caused by many syndromes or meds but this is easy to test at home..
POTS is not diagnosed with a blood test.
My doc said I did not need the Tilt Table Test because my 30+ differential was met.
I wish they had a cure or a med which helped me…
I’ve fallen at home when my pressure dropped. I feel I should wear knee pads!
Part 2. I drink electrolyte powder in water, added protein to my diet, and wear compression knee socks.
@bmekdeci Not sure what your dr recommended but while at The Mayo Clinic I was advised to increase my sodium by 4-5mg daily and to try 3-4L of water daily. I got the LMNT sachets from Amazon, each sachet is 1mg so easy to measure how much you need daily, plus they come in different flavors which helped a lot. There's also a cheaper version (Venture Pal Electrolyte mix) also on amazon. The suggested goal was too much for me, I think 3 sachets a day was my max, it's a lot of salt and a ton of water. but I think overall just increasing your intake is the goal.
Good Luck xx
My doctor recommended 2 1000 mg. packets of LMNT. I have tried it before but don't like the taste of stevia. Guess I will just put up with that unless I can find a product without stevia. I can't drink that much water either. It makes me nauseated.
My son recently experienced these exact symptoms. I just joined this group to try to get as much information and help for him as possible. His anxiety level is high just discussing the symptoms right now. He spent several days in the hospital, he fainted seated in the ER. Right now his care is all over the map without a real diagnosis. However, he tested positive for COVID in the ER. ( He experienced Long COVID in 2021). He is doing better, but driving even as a passenger for more than about 10 minutes brings on symptoms.
