GUIDE program from Medicare: Does anyone know anything about it?

My husband has just received a letter from Medicare saying that he may be eligible for free dementia care through a new Medicare program called GUIDE. Has anyone participated in this program, and if so would you recommend it?

GUIDE is a great program but not available everywhere. It is a pilot project for dementia families being implanted in certain areas across the country. If you live in an area where it is available, you are so lucky! Services might include adult day care and respite.

Here’s an official description:
“The GUIDE Model (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) is a collaborative, integrated dementia care program designed for Medicare beneficiaries and their care partners. With around 400 providers participating nationwide, the GUIDE Model offers new resources and support for people living with dementia and their families.”

@agh How does one find out if GUIDE is available in my area? If something came in the mail to my husband, he probably threw it out without my knowing!

@ret2tus You can look here….but the list may not be up-to-date. If you don’t see your medical group listed, call and ask your doctor. https://www.cms.gov/priorities/innovation/innovation-models/guide
